ABOUT
Melissa Renae Hiebert is a self taught illustrator and animator from Winnipeg, MB. She was bitten by the drawing bug as soon as she could pick up a pencil, and has pursued a life in the arts ever since. Throughout her childhood and adolescent years she was also heavily involved in theatre, music, and writing. She decided to pursue animation as a career after visiting Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.
Over the last few years Melissa's films have been screened at the Winnipeg Real to Reel Film Festival, and the Jasper Short Film Festival. She worked as the animator on IN THE NAME OF ALL CANADIANS, in collaboration with Wookey Films, and Hot Docs. She has contributed her talents to local films as a storyboard artist, and poster illustrator. Her versatile skills allow her to take on commissions of all shapes and sizes, infusing each project with a unique flavor. Currently she is illustrating MOLLY'S GAME by Molly Bloom as a passion project, and is writing/illustrating her own children's book.
Her illustrations have been featured by Golden Globe winning actress Jessica Chastain, film director Guillermo del Toro, author Molly Bloom and Focus Features.
Her skills include sketching, ink work, painting, illustration, and multi-media work. She offers services in storyboarding, concept art, illustrations (storybook, comic book, magazine), animation, and poster making.
